A Note from Hillsdale CARES
Hello Everyone,
Hillsdale CARES serves about 52 families with 90 plus children. Two of the families have 12 children. Thirty-three families receive personal hygiene items once a month which includes deodorant, shampoo, toilet tissue, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, etc. As you can see a lot of items and food are needed each week. Our world is changing. Groceries are costing more and therefore our money doesn't go as far. We also have more families needing financial help and food. There are more families and senior citizens that are having to make choices between having food or medications. We need to reach out to our neighbors and friends. They need to see that we truly care about them and want to help. Please talk about this to your family, friends and churches.
The Hillsdale Schools food drive brought in many useable canned items for distribution. Lots of folks were on hand to help sort and put items on the shelves. Our shelves look full and ready for our weekly families. The Thanksgiving meal packages were prepared and given to our families. Thank you to all the churches and organizations who provided the needed items and helped in delivering.
Christmas is quickly approaching and the family gift stars have been given out to churches. These gifts need to be returned to your individual church representatives by December 7th so they can be prepared for taking to the families we serve. Thank you to each church and church member who were willing to shop and wrap these gifts. You all are greatly appreciated. I will have distribution numbers once everything is accounted for.
If you have any concerns or know of someone who can use our help, please call me at the church (Saturday morning) 419-368-8422, my home 419-368-3833 or Renee's cell phone 419-606-6618.
Blessings, Cindy Young
